She was born Sept. 3, 1969, in Elyria, and lived all her life in the area.
She graduated from Firelands High School, attended the Lorain County JVS and studied for a year at Lorain County Community College.
She was employed as a nurse's aid at Bradley Bay Nursing Home, Westlake, and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Tower Baptist Church, Lorain. She was active in 4H when she was younger. She enjoyed chatting with friends, e-mailing and attending live music concerts.
Survivors include her husband, Randall K. Cogar; son, Keith R. Cogar, and daughter, Carly R. Cogar, both still at home; parents Jim and Helen (nee Vincent) Brooks; sisters Robyn Clark of Melbourne, Fla., Lauree Lane of Limestone, Tenn; and brothers Darren Brooks of Grafton and Marck St. Clair of Lorain.
Friends may call Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. Schwartz Spence Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. Fifth Street, Lorain. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Tower Baptist Church, 1331 Tower Blvd., Lorain, with the Rev. Chris Hughes, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain
