Mrs. Hattie Beatrice Mobley, age 99, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 1990 at Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton, Ga. following an extended illness. She was a native of Union County, North Carolina, and was born July 3, 1891, to William and Betty Threatt Carelock.

Mrs. Mobley moved to Coffee County at the age of 12. She was a homemaker and enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home.

She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church near Broxton.

Survivors include: daughter, Iris Justice; one granddaughter, Sue Mobley both of Douglas; 3 grandsons, R. L. Smith, Jimmy Smith and Cliff Mobley, all of Broxton; 7 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2pm on August 10, 1990 at Mt. Pleasant “Byrd” Baptist Church in Jeff Davis County with Rev. Tim B. Lewis officiating.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
