Rites Held for Mrs. Casey

MASSENA — Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Dwyer Casey were held in St. Patrick's church Jan. 18 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr . Anthony Palmer officiating . Pallbearers were grandsons , Michael and Timothy Waters , Charles and Richard McLaren, Patrick and Phillip Casey . Servers were Dennis Reichardt, Ray Waters, Joe and Phil McLaren and music was provided by the church choir.

Burial was in the Victoria township cemetery with the Kelley funeral home in charge.

Mrs. Casey was born in Omaha Aug. 15, 1889, the daughter of John and Mary Dwyer and was employed as a seamstress there. She was married to Thomas M. Casey June 21, 1911 at Holy Name church in Omaha. The couple lived on a farm southeast of Massena until his death in 1944 when she moved to her present home here. Since August she had been cared for in the home of her daughter, Elizabeth Casey in Atlantic, where she died Jan. 16 following a long illness.

Surviving are a sister, Sister Mary Bernadetta, BVM of Marcus, three sons, John, Joseph, and Thomas D. of Massena; three daughters, Mrs. Terry Waters of Massena, Mrs. Don McLaren and Elizabeth Casey of Atlantic; 27 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
