Funeral services for Fred C. Cole,68, who died yesterday will be held Friday in Moran's chapel with burial in Fairlawn cemetery. A prominent member of the Odd Fellows lodge, he once served as noble grand. He was also well known for his activity in the threshing machine industry in this part of the state. He moved to Decatur about 40 years ago. He had been seriously ill of complications since August but had retired from his work and lodge activity five years ago.
The son of Harvey and Emma Cook, he was born in New York July 25, 1871, and married Elizabeth Hust in Nebraska on March 11, 1892. Besides his widow Elizabeth, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Wayne Bowman of Kansas City, Mo, one sister Mrs. Alice Burgess of Dorchester, Neb., three brothers, William, Guy of Nebraska, Starr of Champaign, two grandsons.
