DUNCAN — COMANCHE — Katheryne Burk passed from this life into everlasting joy early Friday morning, Oct. 29, 2010, at the Meridian Nursing Home, at the age of 87.

Katheryne was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bobby Plott. She leaves two children: Lonnie Plott, and Judy Burk, and four grandchildren.

Katheryne's life as a housewife and mother took her to numerous states. She established households in diverse metropolitan cities such as Las Vegas, Nev., and Fort Worth, Texas, as well as virtual dots on the map, such as French Settlement and Saint Amant, La. But no matter where her journeys took her, she always made her way back to the only place she considered home, Comanche and Duncan, because that's where the people she loved so much lived.

As Katheryne leaves her earthly home, she is now surrounded by a whole host of relatives and friends she hasn't seen or spoken to in a long time. They welcomed her with open arms and loving hearts. Katheryne is happy now, eternally happy.

Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche, on Friday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m, under the direction of Comanche Funeral Home. In keeping with her wishes, Katheryne will rest at the feet of her parents, Velda and Barney Burk, near her sister, Billye Burk, and brothers Clyde, Jiggs, and Dee.
