William was a man of medium build with blond hair and blue eyes. He was united in marriage to Hettie Jane Brewer on June 16, 1868. Their youngest daughter, Martha, died a few months after Hettie's death. He married a second time to Susannah Elizabeth Castleberry Blair. William developed a toothache and walked through the snow to get the tooth pulled. The exposure was too much for his body to resist and he died Feb. 24, 1895. William was the brother of my great great grandmother, Elizabeth Martin Sandusky.
