Mass of Christian burial for Ruth "Nini", age 82, of Edgewater, who died November 9, 2010 at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Edgewater, will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach. Burial will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater. Calling hours will be 7:00-9:00 p.m., with prayer service at 8:30 p.m., on Thursday, November 11 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel.
A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mrs. Blair retired in 1983 from General Motors (Delco) and came to this area in 1984 from Fairport, New York. Ruth will always be remembered as a devoted loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family's happiness was always a matter of great concern to her and the memory of her loving kindness will remain with them always. She cherished spending time with her children. "Nini's" door was always open and her home was the gathering place for everyone. She was a volunteer Pink Lady at BFMC, loved her flowers in her garden, and was always taking pictures of her family.
Grateful for having shared her life are her 6 children, Deborah Belcher of Bluefield, Virginia, Raymond E. Bray and his wife, Chris of Honoye Falls, New York, Mary Jane Marcone of Edgewater, Patricia Shaffer and her husband, Michael of New Smyrna Beach, Thomas J. Bray and Kim, and Tami Fuhrmann and her husband, Todd, all of Edgewater; 16 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Dolores Blanqui. She will also be missed by her kitty, Toula and Yorkie, Rascal, and 12 other family Yorkies. Mrs. Blair was predeceased by her parents, Ludger and Dorothy Galipeau, sister, Madeline Popp, brother Jackie Galipeau, and her husband of 30 years, Harold Blair.
