Mrs. Waldo Brown, long a resident of Hubbard, died at the home of her son, Boyd E. Brown in Seattle, Monday night. She had been ill for a year and her condition had been serious for the past eight months. Mrs. Brown was a postmaster of Hubbard for ten years before her illness. She was born Blanche Miller, July 8, 1888 in Clackamas county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Richard Miller. She graduated from Oregon City high school and taught in the Clackamas county schools for ten years. In 1917, she married Waldo Brown and moved to a farm near Hubbard where they lived until his death eight years ago. Surviving are sons, Boyd E. Brown of Seattle, and Wallace Brown, Cox'n., U.S. Coast Guard, San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Radcliffe Park (Betty Leone) of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, Maj. Milton M. Miller, Washington, S.C., Clay C. Miller of Gresham, George E. Miller of Seattle and John P. Miller of Portland; seven sisters, Mrs. Walter L. Spaulding of Salem, Mrs. Forest M. Gist of Tillamook, Mrs. Edwin R. Brown of Hillsboro, Miss Linus Pauling of Pasadena, Calif. Mrs. Merton B. Briggs of Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. George H. Wilson of Seattle; five grandchildren, Brian and Bruce Brown, Seattle; Wallace Jr., Linda and Amber Brown of Hubbard. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon (Thursday) at the Canby Funeral home, and interment will be in the Brown family plot in Zion Memorial park cemetery. Dr. Roy Achor, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, Oregon City will officiate.
