The son of Gerrill and Mary Jo Yearty Garner, Randy Garner, a Winston resident, died at the age of 50. He married Treva Hicks on September 26, 1976 at White Oak Springs Baptist Church in Dallas.

He retired as a Construction Coordinator from Atlanta Gas Light after 24 years of service. He served on the Board of Directors for the Douglas County Farm Bureau and participated in the Douglas County Farm Bureau Annual Event. He was a member of White Oak Springs Baptist Church in Dallas. He enjoyed farming and taking care of his cattle and chickens. He was a collector of antique tractors. On April 8, 1986 his father donated a kidney to him.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Treva Hicks Garner, their daughter Kristina and Joey Nash of Carrollton; parents Gerrill and Mary Jo Garner; two sisters Sherrie Glidewell of Villa Rica and Sue Coleman of Carrollton; granddaughter Violet Nash; mother in law Marvene Hicks of Dallas; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Friday, April 25 at 2pm at White Oak Springs Baptist Church. Burial in the church cemetery.
