MATTOON - Agnes Frances Jeffers, 94, of Mattoon, IL, died at 4:03 p.m., Sunday October 31, 2010 at the Odd Fellows-Rebekah Home, Mattoon, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the Broadway Christian Church, 1205 South 9th Street, Mattoon, IL with Pastor Gregg Sexton officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Humboldt Cemetery, Humboldt, IL. Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust St., Arcola, IL is handling the arrangements. Mrs. Jeffers was born April 4, 1916 at Bongard, IL, the daughter of Oral Francis and Jane Miles Wade. She was united in marriage to Melvin James Jeffers in Philo, IL on October 20, 1931. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1987. They were married over 56 years. Mrs. Jeffers is survived by two sons: James Jeffers of Rochester, IL; Carl Jeffers and his wife: Mary Lou of Youngstown, AZ; daughter: Frances Brower and husband Don of Sun City, AZ; 23 Grandchildren; 43 Great-Grandchildren, 11 Great-Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son: Derald; daughters: Sharon Marie Monroe and Ruby Kersey; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Mrs. Jeffers was a member of the Broadway Christian Church of Mattoon, IL. She was a member of the "Happy-Timers" at the church. She was a farm wife and a leader for the Okaw Valley girls 4-H Club.
