EMORY – Services for Cathrine Claudia Abercrombie, 67, of Emory, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel, Alba, with Arless Vandiver officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery, Emory.
Mrs. Abercrombie passed away Monday, November 8, 2010, at her residence.
She was born April 6, 1943, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, to the late Jack Warren and Violet May Langley Combs. She married Billy Wayne Abercrombie, Sr. on June 25, 1960, in Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. She had lived most of her life in Carrollton before moving to Emory seven years ago. She owned Grandmother's Treasures Antique Mall in Farmers Branch, was a member of "Saddlebags" in Emory, and a member of Point Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include husband of 50 years, Billy Wayne Abercrombie, Sr. of Emory; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Wayne and Kelly Abercrombie, Jr. of Little Elm, Spencer Wayne and Rhonda Abercrombie of Arlington; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Larry Welch of Forney; brother and spouse, Jackie and Pat Combs, Jr. of Wills Point; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers are Joe Herrera, Joey Estrada, Josh Combs, Kent Abercrombie, Christopher White, and Troy Foster.
The family will receive friends 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
