the county pioneers.
He was married to Barbara Baughmann, of Ohio, in 1860.
It was five years after their marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Schertz came west and
settled on a farm two miles east of Danvers, where they lived for several years.
Later, they moved to a farm six miles west of Danvers, where they lived until 1894, when they moved to Danvers.
