Mrs. Lennie Smith
Mrs. Lennie Burnett Smith, 81, of Galax, widow of the late T. H. Smith, died Wednesday, June 24, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Carroll County July 23, 1877, she was a daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. Elisha Burnett.
Surviving are five sons, Emory Smith, Ashville, Ohio; Curtis Smith, Baltimore, Md.; Vergis Smith, Thorpe, W. Va., and Arthur Smith and Eugene Smith, both of Galax; two daughters, Mrs. Flora S. Mooney, Pulaski, and Mrs. Gertrude S. Spangler, Lake Charles, La.; two brothers, Roby Burnett and Chester Burnett, both of Galax; 21 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at Vaughan-Guynn Chapel Friday at 3:00 p. m., by the Rev. W. E. Cunningham, pastor of the First Christian Church.
Interment will follow in the Gladeville Methodist Church Cemetery.
The body will remain at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home prior to the services.
