Mr. Jackson was born March 7, 1921 to Taylor Franklin and Vina Titsworth Jackson in Paris, Texas. He married Doris Lee Shields of Paris, Texas. The couple lived in both Texas and California before ultimately moving to Salina.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Jackson had been employed as a mechanic at Long McArthur Ford in Salina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Mack Jackson and Charles "Bud" Jackson; and a sister, Olgie Jackson Boyer.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife; three daughters, Joan Jackson Keele of Billings, Montana, Doris Jackson Tebrugge of Salina, and Spring Hernandez of Salina; a son, James Jackson, Jr. of Salina; a brother, William Jackson of Paris, Texas; a sister, Christine Jackson Gentry of Paris, Texas; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held at Brookville Cemetery in Brookville, Kansas.
