Ralph Boring

SPRINGFIELD — The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Grace Lutheran Church for Ralph Boring of Springfield, who died Nov. 6 from age-related causes. He was 94.

A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the church.

He was born Jan. 12, 1916, in Junction City to Warren and Mildred Davis Boring. He married Lucille Neely on Sept. 7, 1968, in Eugene. She died in 1996. He married Alice Naber on July 9, 1997, in Eugene.

He was a lifelong resident of the area and started working at age 14 carrying water to crews building the road to Florence. He did horse logging, owned and drove log trucks, and worked for Weyerhaeuser before retiring.

Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Nancy Prociw of Springfield; three stepsons, Emery Fent of Springfield, Ron Fent of Eugene and Sherman Neely of Drain; and two grandsons. In addition to his first wife, two sons, Gary and Ron, and a daughter, Patricia, died previously.

Remembrances to the Sacred Heart Hospice Care.
