Wallingford - Albert Congdon died at his residence in Providence, R.I. Sunday morning, after a long illness of much suffering. Mr. Congdon was well known in Wallingford, where he was born November 23, 1838, being one of a family of nine children, six boys and three girls. Mr. Congdon was married on November 1, 1866, to Miss Frances C. Ainsworth, only daughter of Judge Joel W. and Charlotte (Hall) Ainsworth of this place, who survives him. He is also survived by three brothers, P. James, Aaron (twin brothers) and Henry, and one sister, Mrs. Olivia Cook, all residing in Providence. After the private services at the home of Mr. Congdon in Providence, R.I., on Wednesday, the remains were brought here, where services were held at 3.30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of Seward J. Ainsworth. Rev. Dr. Edwin M. Haynes of Rutland officiated and the burial was in the family lot in Green Hill cemetery. The bearers were Martin V. Williams, W. Henry H. Sabin, W. Pitt Clark and George Congdon. The floral gifts were many and beautiful.
