Chico Record, Tuesday Morning, February 13, 1923, pg 4 col 3: Mrs. Mary M. Dugger Dies At Chico Vecino Home. Mrs. Mary Martha Dugger, wife of James Dugger, and a prominent resident of the Chico Vecino district, died at her home, 1128 Esplanade, shortly before 6 o’clock Sunday morning after a lingering illness. Mrs. Dugger was a native of Tennessee and was 62 years old.
She had come to California with her family twenty years ago and had settled in this city at that time. She was a member of the Josephine chapter Order of Eastern Star.
Besides her husband she leaves a daughter, Mrs. Cordie McLain of Chico.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Bicknell and Moore chapel at 3 o’clock this afternoon. The services at the chapel will be under the auspices of the Eastern Star lodge. Rev. William J. Lee, pastor of the Broadway Methodist church, will officiate at the services at the grave side. Burial will be made in Chico cemetery.
Those who will act as pall bearers are S.K. Troxel, Charles Camper, W.M. Riley, O.A. Kilpatrick, Harry Waste and Bruce Guynn.
