NAMPA — Services for Dean Earl Cummins, 57, of 108 Winther Blvd., who died Friday at a Nampa hospital will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alsip Funeral Chapel by Roscoe W. Luekenga, president of the Nampa stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
He was born March 7, 1920, at Clearfield, Utah, where he was reared and attended Davis County School and high school. In 1939 he moved with his family to Idaho and they farmed in the Bowmont area. He later obtained his "E" license in aircraft mechanics and his private pilot's license and worked for some time at Clark's Flying Service in Nampa as a mechanic. In 1951 he began working for the State of Idaho, Department of Aeronautics in Boise. He was a supervisor and had worked with construction and maintenance of the 33 emergency and recreational airports within the State of Idaho for 26 years.
He married Thella J. Thomson Dec. 3, 1961 at Boise. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls, LDS Temple. He was a member of the Nampa 4th Ward LDS Church.
He is survived by his wife, Nampa; three sisters, Mrs. Rulon (Anne Belle) Palmer, Ogden, Utah, Mrs. Ione Miller, Nampa, and Mrs. Val Gussie, Boise; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edith Cummins, and a brother, Don, who was reported missing in action during World War II.
