"Myrtle K. Boyles, daughter of Eli and Rachel Adams, was born July 2, 1890, in Barnard, Mo., and died Aug. 5 at a nursing home in Oregon, Mo., at the age of 71.


Services were held Monday afternoon at the Breit & Hawkins funeral home, Rev. Eugene Trice officiating. Burial in the Lower Neely Grove cemetery.


She was a member of the Barnard Methodist church. She married Melvin S. Boyles in 1911, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1949. To this union three sons, Dale, Dan and Dean, were born. She also helped rear a granddaughter and grandson after the death of their mother.


She is survived by her three sons, Dean and Don Boyles, both of Savannah, and Dale Boyles of Elwood, Kan.; a brother, Ed Adams of Forest City; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren." Savannah Reporter and Andrew County Democrat (Savannah, Missouri), August 10, 1961
