FORMER RAIL WORKER IS CLAIMED BY DEATH-Morris J. Connell Dies at Local Hospital-Morris J. Connell, aged about 75 years, died at 6 o'clock Sunday night at a local hospital. Mr. Connell who lived here for some time made his home at the Dan Stanton residence at 1023 South Eighth Avenue (Dan Stanton is his son-in-law). Death followed a brief illness. Mr. Connell was formerly a railroad section foreman. He is said to have relatives living in Iowa. The Barnett Funeral chapel is in charge of the funeral arrangements and is conferring with William T. Bowen of Cherokee, Iowa, a nephew, who is expected here to make plans for the last rites. According to present plans the burial will be made in Sioux Falls.

Waverly friends of Morris O'Connell received the sad news of his death, which occurred at his home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the deceased being a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick O'Connell, who resided in Bremer county for many years, their farm being known as the Stockwell farm, north of this city. The deceased was a cousin of Mrs. Frank Sager and Miss Fannie Guiney, of this city.
Morris O'Connell is the brother of Nora O'Connell, Mrs. William Bowen and Johanna O'Connell, Mrs. John Guiney. Miss Fannie Guiney and Mary Ellen Guiney, Mrs. Frank Sager are Johanna Guiney's daughters. Morris O'Connell would be their uncle.
Morris J. Connell (26) married Izetta Williams (21) at Floyd County, Iowa on April 25, 1882. Zetta was born in Ohio on May 20, 1861, the daughter of Isaac Zane and Mary Amanda (Prather) Williams. The 1895 Iowa census shows Maurice Connell (39), his wife Izetta (36) and daughter Loretta Connell living in Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. He is a railroad foreman born in Pennsylvania, Izetta is born in Ohio. After divorcing Morris O'Connell, Izetta married Charles J. Simpson (1859-1922, memorial #149948799) at Linn County, Iowa in September, 1904. Charles and Izetta had one son, Lloyd Harold Simpson (memorial #72280366). Izetta (Williams) O'Connell Simpson died at Cedar Rapids, Linn County, Iowa on May 22, 1929 and was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery on May 26, 1929.
