MATOAKA, June 11 -- Mrs. Ida May [sic] Bailey, 64, of Lamar, died Sunday at 10 p.m. at her home after an illness of three years.
Born March 24, 1887, at Crumpler, she was a daughter of J. W. Bailey and the late Martha Bailey, of Glenwood Park. She was married to Walter Bailey September 3, 1906. She had lived at Lamar 34 years and was a member of the Lamar Methodist Church.
Surviving besides her husband and father are three children, Earl, of Glenwood Park, Clyde, of Lamar, and Mrs. Eula Heslop, of Lamar; three sisters, Mrs. Roxie Rutherford, of Bristol, Va., Mrs. E. E. Bailey, of Pulaski, Va., and Mrs. Fred Lusk, of Crumpler.
The body was removed at 4 p.m. Monday from Bailey Funeral Home, Matoaka, to the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m.Tuesday from Beartown Methodist Church, with the Rev. D. E. Kegley, of Bluefield, officiating, assisted by the Rev. I. A. Gadd. Burial will follow in Bailey Cemetery, Beartown.
Grandsons and granddaughters will serve as pallbearers and flower girls."
