WREN - Paula Gwen Medley Andrews, 46, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, as the result of a plane crash in the Wren community of Monroe County. She was born in Chicago and had lived in Wren since 1959. She was a 1975 graduate of the Nettleton school and a 1980 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in interior design. She was self-employed as a furniture and interior designer. She was a member of the Central Grove Baptist Church where she was the church organist and served on various committees. She was involved with the Secret Pals of the church. Her hobbies were sewing, flower gardening and NASCAR.


Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Smithey officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park Cemetery.


Survivors include one son, Landon J. Andrews of Wren; her father and mother, Grover C. "Bud" Medley Jr. and Thelma Ruth Bishop "Blackie" Medley, of Nettleton; one brother, Donald W. "Don" Medley of Hattiesburg; one sister, Susie M. Hayes of Wren; one niece Katherine Hayes of Wren; two nephews, Ben Hayes of Ft. Knox, Ky., and Stephen Medley of Hattiesburg.


She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grover and Myrtle Medley Sr., and Lillie Bishop; and one nephew, who died in the same plane crash, George Medley.
