Vernetia is survived by her daughter, Pamela Cox and husband, James, of St. Clair, MO; by one granddaughter, Angela Beeson and husband, Randy, of O'Fallon, MO; by two great-grandsons, Joshua Beeson and wife, Cindy, of St. Peters, MO and Matthew Beeson and wife, Andra, of O'Fallon; by two great-great-grandchildren, Collin and Olivia Beeson of O'Fallon; and by cousins.
Vernetia was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Oma Tynes; and by her infant sister, Delores Tynes.
Vernetia was a Christian and member of First Christian Church in Belle, MO. During her working career, she was employed as a dental assistant for about four years. Vernetia was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 203 of Belle, MO. She also was a member of the Belle Homemakers Club. She had resided most of her life at her home in Belle. During later years, she resided at Voctorian Manor in Vienna, MO and more recently at Cedar Crest Manor in Washington, MO.
Graveside services were held at ll:30 AM on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at High Gate Cemetery in St. James, MO, with Pamela Cox officiating. Memorials may be made to the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 96 of St. Clair, MO. The family of Vernetia Abel entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
