Kenneth Troy Howerton, 69 of Stillwater, Okla. died on Thursday Nov. 4, 2010 at his home. Services will be at 1:00P.M. on Tuesday Nov. 9, 2010 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Stillwater, Okla. with the Reverend Henry Siems officiating. Interment will follow at Carney Cemetery, Carney, Okla. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth was born in Stillwater, Okla. on Nov. 21, 1940 to Porter Mason Howerton and Nora Edna McCoy-Howerton. He attended Stillwater schools, graduating with the class of 1959. He was married to Vicki Barnes in 1959. He was enlisted in the Army the same year. Upon his return to Stillwater in 1961, he opened his own automotive service and sales business. Ken was the founder and owner of Howerton's Auto Sales and Service, Inc. 2221 W. Sixth St. Stillwater, Okla. which will continue to serve Ken's many customers today by his son Brett. He enjoyed music, fishing, spending his time with his family and serving his customers.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Norman and Robert Howerton, sisters Elouise Sims, Lorene Flippo and Ellorene Flannigan.

He is survived by his wife Vicki of the home, son Brett Howerton and wife Mendy of Stillwater, son Shawn Howerton of Ponca City, Okla, and daughter Kinni Lin Howerton also of Stillwater. Kenneth is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Trevor, Clay, Hayley, Lindsay, Chace, Chandler, Christopher, and Preslie, Howerton all of Stillwater. Karlie Free of Houston, Texas., Ross Howerton who is attending college in New York City, N.Y. and Cale Butler of Stillwater as well as four great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his sisters; Reba Going of Stillwater, Jody Kooken of Oklahoma City, Okla., Betty Cadswaite of San Diego, Calif.. and Anise Yeoman also of San Diego, Calif.
