August C. Blake, 77, of 708 Welty Lane, Beloit, died Friday evening, Dec 8, 1995, at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 2, 1918, in Wonewoc, Wi,the son of Harry and Mary Kosak Blake. He married Fern Petitt on Feb 25, 1950, in Rockton. He was an inspector for Warner Electric Brake for 29 years retiring in 1980. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the Philippines and New Guinea, and was a member of the VFW Post 2306.
He is survived by his wife, Fern; a daughter, Cherie L. Blake of Chicago, and a son Gary Blake of South Beloit, two grandsons, Jason and Brandon Blake of South Beloit; and three sisters, Mildred Heckert of wEst Allis, Margaret LaBree and Rosella (Glen) Osborn of Longwood, Fl. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother.
Private gravesite services with military honors will be held in the Veterans Section of East Lawn Cemetery. There will be no visition. Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Funeral Home, 1125 Cranston Road, Beloit is assiting the family with arrangements.
