" I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Glenda was 61, born July 9, 1943, and began her blessed eternal life Saturday, March 26, 2005. She died at home, in the loving care of her husband and was surrounded by close family and friends. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. til 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, with recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Viewing at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 30, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Tom Duhe. Glenda is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Charles Sullivan, Jr; three children, Charles "Chuck" Sullivan III and wife Melissa, Sheri Sullivan Benford, and Shannon Sullivan Knapps and husband Brian; five grandchildren, Derek and Ashlyn Burns, McKenzie and Brody Knapps and Jane-Marie Sulllivan; mother, Dorothy "Dot" Gore; brother, Johnny Gore; three very special aunts, Vivian "Sue" Saleme, Nina Gore and Elma Gore; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the second love of her life, her father-in-law, Charles Sullivan Sr.; mother-in-law, Jane Sullivan; three sisters-in-law, Bessie Allen, Laura Didier and BeBe LeBlanc; brother-in-law, Robert LeBlanc II; father, Deamond "Ed" Gore; grandparents, Willie and Mattie Gore; grandma and grandpa Hatten; numerous aunts and uncles, including an uncle she cherished most, Frank Harold Gore. Her pallbearers will be Butch Cox, Lin Babb, Wayne Hirshey, Robert "Bobby" LeBlanc III, Kerry LeBlanc and Roy Chustz. Honorary pallbearers are Mark LeBlanc, Kevin LeBlanc, Gary Le Coq and Mitch Aguillard. Special thanks to all the staff on the fifth floor tower of Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and to the staff and doctors in the Hematology Oncology Center. A very special thanks to Dr. Gerald Miletello for all the love and compassion he showed Glenda during her illness. May God bless each of you. Most important to her were God and her family. She enjoyed LSU games, sewing and cooking; however, her greatest love was the outdoors. She loved staying at the camp with her husband, where they would hunt for deer or catch sac-a-lait off the pier. This world will never be the same without her. She will always be remembered for her beautiful, warm smile and her sincere love for everyone. She will be greatly missed by us all. Obituary published in The Baton Rouge Advocate March 28, 2005
