len Howard Strain, 92, of Lincoln, died on Sunday (10/31/10). He was born in Lamar, Colorado. Glen earned a B.S. from Colorado State University and his M.S. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was the Assistant Commissioner of Education in charge of Vocational and Technical Education for Nebraska. Glen was also the State Director of Vocational Agriculture Education. He taught and coached at Kimball County High School, and taught ground school for the pilot training program in Ft. Collins, CO. He was a State Advisor of FFA, and an Honorary Star Farmer of America. Glen was a member of the Nebraska Educators Investment Club, 50-50 Club, Masonic Lodge Chapter 54, Scottish Rite, and Past Worthy Patron of Eastern Star Temple Chapter 271. He was the co-president of Randolph and Lefler PTAs, and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Glen was an avid bible study student and bingo and bridge player at Windcrest Assisted Living.

Funeral Service: 11:00am, Friday, November 5, 2010 at Christ United Methodist Church, 4530 ‘A' Street, with Pastor Jim Miller officiating.
Interment: 1:30pm, Friday, at Lincoln Memorial Park.
Visitation: Thursday from Noon to 8pm, with the family greeting friends from 5pm to 7pm, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street.
