Mabel Telithia Caton Bowes Liddle was the eldest of 19 children born to Edgar Orville Caton and Mary Katherine Caton, nee Carnahan. She married Ira Verle Bowes in 1921 in Hastings, Nebraska and there were 9 children born of this marriage, all in Kearney, Nebraska. In 1941, they moved to Colorado Springs, CO. They divorced in 1948 and Mabel remarried in 1950 to John R. Liddle and they made their home in Ovid, CO. After his death in 1959, Mabel moved to Sterling, CO. and lived there until 1965. She worked at Logan County Hospital in Sterling for several years and then moved to California in 1965 and lived the remainder of her years there until her death in 1977. She preceded 8 of her children in death.
