WALTER G STARK

Walter G. Stark, 62, of 114 South East Street, Elkhart lake, died September 24 at Plymouth Hospital after being stricken with a heart attack. He had been in failing health the past five years.
He was born Jan 30, 1914 in Milwaukee, a son of the late Walter and Helen Paulsen Stark who owned and operated the Pine Point Resort at Elkhart Lake for many years. He attended Plymouth High School and the Layton School of Art, Milwaukee. A World War II veteran, he served with the United States Navy Seabees in the Pacific Theater from 1942-456. On June 18, 1945, he married Fay Johnson of Superior at Camp Endicott, Rhode Island. The couple made their home at Elkhart lake since their marriage.
A quality control general foreman at Tecumseh Products Company, New Holstein until his retirement due to ill health a few years ago, Mr. Stark was widely known for his photography, being one of the first to take pictures at Road America. He was a member of St. George Catholic Church, Elkhart Lake and the Tri-County VVFW Post 6707 at Kiel.
Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Miss Stepanie Stark of Milwaukee, one son, August of Stevens Point.
Funeral services were held Monday at St. George Catholic Church, Elkhart Lake. The Reverend Cletus Kaiser, pastor was the celebrant. Burial was in the Kiel cemetery.
