ELSIE H ECKARDT
Elsie H. Eckardt, 96 of Sheboygan Falls, died Thursday evening, Sept. 2, 1999 at Pine Haven Christian Home where she was a resident the past eight years.
She is the former Elsie Hermann, daughter of the late Michael and Augusta Krueger Hermann. She attended Symco grade school, was a 1921 graduate of Little Wolf High School and a 1923 graduate of the UW Stevens Point, with a teaching degree. Elsie taught Home Economics and Phy-Ed until 1938 when she moved to Milwaukee, where she owned a gift and card shop.
On Nov. 1, 1952 she married Emil Eckardt in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Sheboygan Falls in 1971 Her husband Emil preceded her in death on April 23, 1979. She was a member of First Reformed Church, Sheboygan Falls and the Teachers Retirement Group. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, reading and horseback riding.
Survivors include two nieces, Virginia Howell, Minneapolis, Minn.; Lorraine Schmoil, Manawa, Wis. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, three brothers and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel, with the Rev. Kevin Van Wyk, pastor of First Reformed Church, Sheboygan Falls, officiating. Burial will be in the Kiel Cemetery.
