Sylvia Pearl Baertsch, 84, of North Branch died on Sept. 23, 1988, at Chisago lakes Hospital after suffering a stroke.
Sylvia was born Dec. 11, 1903, at Danube. Her mother died when Sylvia was 14 years old and she cared for her younger brothers and sisters for a number of years. She was employed in Minneapolis until she married Dudley Baertsch March 22, 1934, in Robbinsdale. They farmed at Stacy and Almelund until their retirement in 1980.
Sylvia was a member of Kost Evangelical Free Church where she was active in White Cross, W.C.T.U., Women's Missionary Society. She did volunteer work at Neighbors Helping Neighbors store in North Branch.
Sylvia is survived by her Husband; son Richard and his wife Diane of Scotia, New York; Ronald and his wife Janet of Prior Lake; Bruce and his wife Susan of Hastings; Vivian of Annandale and Pearl of Danube; four grandsons: Robert, David, John and Eric; two granddaughters: Susan and Heidi. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister; and granddaughter Laura.
Funeral services were Sept. 23 at Kost Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. John Myers officiating. Burial was in the Kost Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Grandstrand Funeral Home, North Branch.
