He was born November 6, 1909 in Bothwell, the son of Nels and Lena Jenson Anderson. His mother died when he was five years old. He was raised by his father and stepmother Alice Brain Anderson. On December 7, 1932, he married Virginia Cornwall in the Logan LDS Temple.
He and Virginia worked side by side on the family farm, where they were among the first turkey growers in Box Elder County. Vigil spent his entire life in the Bothwell he loved. He served on the town council and was an influential force to many civic improvements.
As an active member of the Bothwell Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served on the building finance committee, first counselor in the Bishopric, High Councilman in the South Bear River Stake, and as Bishop for seven years. He and his wife were called as officiators in the Logan LDS Temple where they served with happiness and dedication for ten years.
He loved people and always looked for the best in them and gave them the best he had. He loved his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His life is an inspiration and his memory a benediction to each one of them.
They had five children: Monette, Donna, Pam, Curtis and Reese
