- Mr. George Alfred Marshall, 78, of Lancaster, widower of Mary Ann Marshall, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He was born April 5, 1932 in Dubuque, Iowa, a son of the late Ruth and Ralph G. Marshall. Mr. Marshall was retired and enjoyed farming. He had been employed by Duracell and LaFar Industries.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Marshall will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Lancaster Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Memorial Park.
- Mr. Marshall is survived by two sons, Steven Marshall and his wife Linda, and Scott Marshall and his wife Laura, all of Simpsonville; four daughters, Susan King of Lancaster, Sharon McKown and her husband Jerry of Douglasville, GA, Sherry Hunt and her husband Rick of Cleveland, TN, and Sheila Sanders and her husband Ken of Rock Hill; two brothers, Dwayne Marshall of Minneapolis, Minn., and Ralph Marshall of Dubuque, Iowa; a sister, Ruth Ledford of Ocoee, TN; twenty-one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Ralph G. Marshall; his wife Mary Ann Marshall, a brother, Alvin Marshall; two sisters, Rose Ann Jenson and Alice Cook.
- The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Lancaster Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2377 Boxcar Road, Lancaster.
