LISTER, DR. RUFUS GRIFFIN formerly of Mountain Brook passed away September 14, 2010, at the age of 76. He was born in Birmingham on October 18, 1933 to Dr. Robert Hood Lister and Ruth Griffin Lister. Dr. Lister was a graduate of Marion Military Institute, where he was an original member of the White Knights Precision Drill Team. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. After returning home he attended the University of Alabama and later was a graduate of Life Chiropractic College. Dr. Lister was also preceded in death by his brothers: Dr. Robert H. Lister, Jr. and his twin Dr. Irvin C. Lister. He is survived by his children: Thomas Griffin Lister of Knoxville, TN; Carolyn Lister Barnes (David) of Monroe, LA and Elizabeth "Lisa" Hinkel Lister (Veronica) of Birmingham and by their mother Brigitte N. Lister. Also left to treasure his memory are his grandchildren: David Barnes, Jr., Brigitte Barnes, Segen Lister, Alexis Lister, Noah Lister, Hansen Lister and Lane Lister; his beloved sister Burchie L. Crosby of Greenville, Al and by several nieces and nephews. He was a kind hearted man that was loved and cherished and will be missed by all that knew him. The family will receive friends at Ridout's Valley Chapel from 10:00 AM until 12 noon on Thursday, September 16, 2010. Family burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Moundville, AL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to First Light, Inc. located at 2230 4th Ave. North, Birmingham, AL 35205. Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, AL.

DR. RUFUS GRIFFIN LISTER was born October 18, 1933. He married BRIGITTE GASELA NAGEL.
