Eric Charles Pollei was the fifth of nine children born to Ludwig Karl and Mathilda Lange Pollei. His parents immigrated from Germany in 1903 and Eirc was their first child born in America in 1904. He grew up on the family farm on west side of Salt Lake City. He married Emily Ada Cannon on Nov.11, 1933 and they became the parents of four boys; Eric, Paul, Robert & David. After working for Franklin Livestock Supply Businnes, he formed his own business in downtown Salt Lake called National Serums and Livestock Supplies. He owned and operated this business until his death at age 69 in 1973.
