BAIRD, Allen L. - 55, died at a Roseburg, Oregon hospital June 8, 1973. Born March 10, 1918 in Umpqua, Oregon. He was a resident of the Roseburg area most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II. Allen was a teacher at Joseph Lane Junior High School in Roseburg, Oregon for the past 13 years. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Roseburg and numerous professional organizations. On June 14, 1953, in Seattle, Washington, he was married to Dorothy E. Lee, Roseburg, who survives. Other survivors include: 1 daughter, Mrs. Phil (Bonnie) Bair, Oceanport, New Jersey; 3 sons, Myron, Eric and Cecil all of Roseburg; his parents, Mr & Mrs Arthur Baird, Roseburg; 2 sisters, Mrs. David DePew, Klamath, California, Mrs. Phil Willig, Salem, Oregon; 3 brothers, E. Blake, Umpqua, David, Portland, Oregon, James, Umpqua; 1 granddaughter and numerous other relatives. Funeral services were held at Wilson Chapel of the Roses, Roseburg, Oregon on Wednesday, June 13, 1973 at 10am with Rev. Gene Mumau, Pastor of the Free Methodist Church officiating. He was assisted by Rev. C.O. Tremain and Rev. George Avis. Private interment followed at the Brumbaugh Cemetery in Cottage Grove, Oregon.
