From History of Maries Co, MO by Everett M. King, page 576: "Jacob A. Love, born March 1, 1839, was probably the best known of Harvey's children. Enlisting in the Confederate Army at the beginning of the war, he served almost the duration before being captured and confined in Alton Prison. He was shot while escaping and rejoined his command later after recovering from his wound. He was married in 1865 to Margaret, widow of Fielding T. Coppedge, nee Roberson. He taught many terms of school in addition to farming, served one term as School Commissioner, three terms as Representative, and one as Presiding Judge of the County Court. He died February 16, 1929, and his wife died many years before that. Of their four children Martha, born October 31, 1872, died single July 31, 1904; Laura married a man named McCoy and died in Brown County, Kansas; she left a family, but their number and names have not been received. The two living children are Waldo, in northwestern Colorado, and William in Montana".
