Ellis Clinton Irvine, 54, of Staunton, formerly of Lexington, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at his residence. Mr. Irvine was born on May 23, 1943 in Rockbridge County, and was a son of the late Ellis Davidson Irvine and Nellie VanNess Irvine . Mr. Irvine is survived by one daughter, Pamela I. Wentz, Portsmouth; five brothers, Thomas D. Irvine , Crimora , Carl C. Irvine , Smithfield, Emmett R. Irvine , Lexington, David W. Irvine , Newport News, W. Roscoe Irvine , Raphine; one sister, Pearl I. Thomas, Lexington; and two grandchildren, Robert W. Wentz IV, Morgan Ellis Wentz, both of Portsmouth. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 1998, from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy Harlow officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
