Big Sandy Rites Set

Big Sandy resident, Mrs. Ruth V. McConkey, died Thursday, Dec. 11, in a Big Sandy hospital. Services are set for Dec. 13 in the Big Sandy Methodist church.

Mrs. McConkey was born in Armington, Mont., on April 3, 1896. She married Leon McConkey in 1916 in Great Falls and the couple moved to the Warrick area in 1917. In 1935 they bought the Miller ranch and operated it until 1964, when they moved to Big Sandy.

A member of the Methodist church, Mrs. McConkey also belonged to the WCS of the church, the Order of Eastern Star, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, three children, Royal of Missoula, Mrs. Julius (Inez) Peterson of Big Sandy, and Robert of Ronan; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Martha Ramberg of Big Sandy; and four brothers, Jack Atkinson of Port Angeles, Wash., Charles Atkinson of Butte, Howard Atkinson of Great Falls, and Henry Atkinson of Las Vegas.
