HIGHWAY WORKER ACCIDENT VICTIM
W. E. Benedict of Wenatchee died last Friday from injuries sustained in an accident on the Distautel road the same day. The accident occurred when a state highway truck, in which Benedict was riding, went over the bank in order to avoid colliding with another truck with a house on it, coming from the Grand Coulee area.
The highway truck was loaded with gravel and the truck with the house on it was using most of the roadway and the state truck could not pass. In order to avoid a collision the truck was driven over the bank and Benedict was fatally injured when he tried to jump clear.
