Mrs. Alcorn died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in NHC Healthcare of Cookeville.
She was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Putnam County to the late Alexander and Bessie Anderson Leftwich.
Mrs. Alcorn was a homemaker and was retired from Cookeville Hospital with 20 years of services. She enjoyed singing and attending singings.
Her family includes five nephews, Eugene, Delano, Stephen and Shawn Leftwich and Billy Waller; eight nieces, Sandy Cunningham, Lois Boyd, Debra Chaffin, Betty Custer, Myra Jones, Paula Burgess, Francene Joor and Barbara Gower; several friends; and a special friend, Shelia Adermann.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Alcorn; two brothers, Joe and Paul Leftwich; a sister, Boda Waller; a nephew, James Leftwich; and three nieces, Willene Kinniard, Dimple Reeves and Joann Maynard.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Alcorn's nephews.
Rev. James Haynes will officiate at the services.
