Nacogdoches, Texas ~~~ I am dictating my obituary.

I passed away in Nacogdoches County on November 4, 2010, at the age of 92.

Services will be held at Laird Funeral Home, at 2pm on Sunday, November 7, 2010 with Reverend Bill Taylor officiating.

I was born May 3, 1918 to Horace E. and Lillie Koonce Green.

I attended Stephen F. Austin University and the University of Kentucky. I served 43 months in the Air Force Engineers in World War II. After discharge from service, I worked for the City of Houston in the Engineering Department building Lake Houston. I then worked 3 years with Gulf Oil and 30 years with Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company. I retired in 1980 and moved back to the Black Jack area near where I was born and raised.

I married Geraldine Molloy and we had two children, a girl and a boy. After 35 years of marriage, she passed away and I married Vada Fuller Hendrix and she survives me.

Preceeding me in death are my parents, Horace E. and Lillie Koonce Green, my brother, Hollis Green, my sister-in-law, Phyllis Green, my nephew, Billy Ray Green and my niece, Jacqueline Green and my granddaughter, Grace.

Surviving me are my daughter, Clara, and husband Roger Russell of Houston, my son, Gerald L. (Bubba) Green and his wife Susan of Nacogdoches, four grandchildren, Ryan Russell and wife Chelsa, Allison Etchison and husband Justin, Kaylyn Green and Kristen Green, one great-grandchild, Leah Rose Etchison, one brother, Rayford Green of Nacogdoches, one sister-in-law, Ann Green of Nacogdoches, one nephew, Richard Green of San Antonio and one niece, Tricia Uresti and husband Rudy, of Pearland, Texas and their children, April Garcia and husband Mike, Angela Uresti and Adam Uresti.

I was a deacon of the Antioch Baptist Church and a board member of the Black Jack Cemetery Association.

My pallbearers will be Ryan Russell, Ric Green, Julio Jimenez, Mike Wise, Randy Clary and Larry Sanford.

Honorary pallbearers are Troy Hargis, Glen Hill, Micky Allen, Clint Watson, Eldridge Balch, Allen Thruston, James R. Lynch, Barham Rhodes, Tommy Fuller and Elvis Green.

I love you very much and I hope to see you in Heaven. For me to do that there are two things you must do. First, you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, follow Him and do His will. Second, you must pass away as I have. If you have in mind to send flowers, I would hope in lieu of flowers you would donate to the Antioch Baptist Church, c/o Carolyn Anthony, 217 CR 392, Nacogdoches 75961 or the Black Jack Cemetery Association.

God bless you all.
