passed away, January 8, 2004 at New River Valley Medical Center.
He is survived by: his wife, Ada Epperly Sutphin of Floyd; three sons, Troy Sutphin of Salem, Eugene Sutphin of Stuart, Wayne Phillips of Radford;
daughter, June Hall of Meadows of Dan;
ten grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Manuel Lawson, Safford Lawson; step-daughter, Polly Lawson.
Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11 at Gardner Funeral Home with Reverend Glen Sage officiating. Interment followed in Maple Shade Cemetery, Laurel Fork.
