Anna Endreson married Peder Alvig on December 15, 1878. They farmed in sections 31 and 32 of Dovre township, Kandiyohi County, and had 15 children. Anna was Guri Endreson's youngest daughter. Guri is known for her heroic deeds during the Sioux uprising of 1862. The Endreson family lived on a claim in section 19, near the Solomon lakes. On August 21, 1862, the fourth day of the uprising, Indians approached the Endreson cabin and killed Anna's father (Lars) and her brother (Endre), and wounded her younger brother (Ole) who died later of pneumonia. Her two older sisters (Guri and Britha) were captured by the Indians, but escaped. Anna and her mother survived the attack by hiding in their cellar.
