William Charles "Billy" Brummett, the son of John (JB) and Elnora Dudley Brummett was born Oct. 29, 1953, in the town of Irwin, Tenn. He passed away Oct. 19, 2010, at the age of 56.

Billy moved to the Walla Walla Valley in 1958, with the rest of his family and lived in Dixie or Walla Walla for almost 52 years. He worked at the Birds Eye, D & K and Stokely's Frozen Foods Plants until they closed business. Then, he went to work for Shopko for several years. While working at the frozen foods plants, Billy met and married Rose Hessler. They had one son and several years later were divorced. He really enjoyed playing bingo with friends any chance he could get. He also enjoyed going to church and Bible study each week and being with the many friends he considered family there.

Billy is survived by his son, Joshua Brummett; stepdaughter, Chaunte' Hessler; his stepgrandsons, Emilio, DeVante' and Xzavyer; older brother, Steve (wife Mary), younger sister, Elaine Karl (husband Rick) and younger brother, Tim (wife Kelly), all of Walla Walla. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, John (JB) and Elnora, earlier this year and his youngest sister, Belinda, in 1994.

There will be a memorial funeral service for Billy at the Dixie Christian Church on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dixie Christian Church through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder St., Walla Walla. At later date, private family interment will be held at Dayton City Cemetery.
