Daughter of Theodule and Eleanor (Trembley) Dragon. She is Mary Rose Emily born 4 Sept 1872 in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada.
Rose married Louis Diemand on 16 August 1910 in Northampton, MA.
Rose told all the family that she was born in 1877 in the Dakota Territory and was part Native American. Her parents moved frequently and she is in North Dakota in its 1885 census.
Aunt Rose was one of the most meticulous people I have ever met. One Sunday, she and Louis came for dinner and when it was over yelled at me for getting brown bread crumbs on the tablecloth. When my parents first married, they had moved in with Louis & Rose until they (parents) could find their own apartment. My mom said Rose did not tolerate anything being spilled at the table. Her silver always was polished. Her house always was spotless.
Rose was a champion jigsaw puzzler. There always was a huge puzzle being worked on a table in their living room. She was the person who taught me how to make a jigsaw puzzle by first sorting the pieces by edge & primary color.
Rose died at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital on the same day that President John Kennedy was assasinated.
