Mr. Charles Franklin Holland, 72, went to be with his Lord in Memorial Hospital in Danville, VA. He had been in ill health for two years and a patient in the hospital for one week.

He was the son of the late Charles Winston Holland and Catherine Clark Holland. Most of his life was spent in Callands and Whitmell, VA, where he was a farmer before retiring seven years ago.

He married Hattie Blanche Wells on November 30, 1916.

He was an active member of Whitmell Christain Church, where he served as an elder.

Surviving are his wife and the following sons and daughters: John Thomas Holland of Dry Fork, VA, Carroll William Holland of Ringgold, VA, Kenneth J Holland of Dry Fork, Clarence David Holland of Danville, Mrs. Angie Lois Allen of Danville, Mrs. Annie Elsie Motley of Dry Fork, Mrs. Iva Jeane Barber of Danville, Mrs. Helen Marie McNeeley of Dry Fork and Dorothy Elaine Cranford of Greensboro, NC.

He is also survived by brother Reverend John Spencer Holland and sister Mrs. Annie Grogan of Ridgeway, VA, 27 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Whitmell Christian Church.

Burial followed in the Church cemetery.
