Loris - James Duffie Duncan Sr., 81, past mayor of Loris, died Tuesday at his residence.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Loris First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Twin Cities Memorial Gardens directed by Hardwick Funeral Home.
Mr. Duncan was born in Horry County, a son of the late Andrew J. and Mrs. Amanda Wade Duncan. He was mayor of Loris for 17 years. He was a member of Green Sea Lodge No. 205, the Shriners, and was president of Horry Production Credit Assn.
Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Bryant Duncan; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Murth of Loris; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
