Death: Last Saturday evening about 7:45 O'clock, engineer John Patterson was instantly killed in the wreck of the Bristol Accommodation as it was nearing Limestone. John Patterson was born and raised in this place, was well known and popular and had been on the road about 20 years. He was married, resided in Bristol with his wife and three children: he was forty-one years old, was the bro.-in-law of Capt. Ross Smith. The funeral took place here on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Hickson and the remains were interred in the old cemetery on the hill.
