Funeral services for Magdalena “Maggie” BABITKE, age 90, were held Tuesday morning at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Lewis Holland officiating. Mrs. BABITZKE died Thursday, January 14, 1999 at the Edward Abraham Memorial Home.

Burial was in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors.

Mrs. BABITZKE was born on October 16, 1908 near Hosmer, South Dakota to Gottlieb and Magdalena Frey KAMMERER. She attended school in Leola, South Dakota before moving with her family to near Booker about 1917.

She married Berthold “Bert” BABITZKE on July 22, 1929 at Arnett, Oklahoma. They lived in Glazier and later farmed near Lipscomb until 1938 when they moved to Canadian. They continued to farm in the Locust Grove area. Mr. BABITZKE died on September 26, 1969. Mrs. BABITZKE enjoyed her hobbies such as crocheting, needlework and baking. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active in her church circle. In addition to her husband and parents; she was preceded in death by ten siblings.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Carol BABITZKE of Tucson, Arizona and Ernest and Betty BABITZKE of Punta Gorda, Florida; a brother, George KAMMERER of Pampa, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
